I decided, after 6 years, to hinge the front security panel to my garden bar and investigated the possibility of gas springs. I found the website initially very helpful and indicated that this was a feasible solution to me having to lift the panel on and off every time. I had to modify the panel, to enable hinges being placed and then used the web based calculator. The anchor positions were not straight forward, due to cross members, but I adjusted the suggested positions until a feasible location was attained. I was still a little nervous when ordering, but I worked to the downloaded plan and the struts work almost perfectly. When lifting the panel, it doesn't push all the way to the horizontal, but I easily lift it the last few inches and it stays in place. I am very happy with the result and so is my back. If anything, I must say that I became a little confused at times with some sections of the calculator, but the resulting animation of the movement looked fine, so I was happy to place the order.

Well layed out site , easy to find what we were after , quickly despatched . Ideal

Your company is very helpful and really quick and fast delivery i could recommend you to anyone who are looking for struts many thanks Colin

What could be simpler than using the gas spring calculator, hit order and get your installation instructions/dimensions with your invoice, prompt dispatch and delivery by a decent courier.

Tried the original supplier for the gas springs but never got a reply so find this company on line and could make my gas springs on there web page almost the correct size but fitted today on my Ace Brooklands boot lid works great.

See below two emails you have not replied to detailing how you appear to have wrongly charged me VAT and did not make me aware of additional chahrges for shipping to Ireland or else didnt know. Sent: Thursday, October 8, 2026 11:57 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Attn Nick Sawyer Further to my email of yesterday I have now received my order (WS28996GB) via UPS. The UPS delivery docket includes taxes of €19.16 ( which I presume is irish VAT) on top of a customs duty of €3.00. There is also a UPS handling fee of €22.94. I can provide a receipt if necessary. Your docket which was attached is for £69.02 and includes £21.50 for shipping and £11.50 VAT. As a result I have ended up paying €126 for a €55 gas strut. I find this particularly irritating because - as you will see from the email chain below, I specifically asked about additional charges and understood from your reply that they would be visible at the checkout. I am not sure what can be done at this stage but I would assume you can at least refund UK VAT. I might also suggest that you redirect customers from the Republic of Ireland to one of your sister sites in the EU. I was going to use one of them but understood from your email that additional charges would be visible at check out and given there were none I proceeded to make the purchase. Quick and efficient service

Good communication and fast delivery

Very good

Great online calculator to work out the spring size and, importantly, the fixing details and location. Fixed the springs exactly as shown on the calculation and they worked a treat. Highly recommend.

Excellent products, useful design tool, quickly received.

Excellent service from the start of the call to the delivery !

The on site calculator is a win, able to type in all dimensions & weights, then a recommended size of strut is given along with fitting dimensions. (One thing I would like added is +/- fitting tolerance) Product is good quality & works well

A superb set of models to support the decision making for appropriate gas springs, bringing simplicity to what is a complicated topic. When order, one of the quickest deliveries I have received. Thank you so much.

From replacing old springs to designing a new application, this is the place to go.

Excellent service delivered in less than 24 hours.

The response to my query was prompt and detailed. Great customer care

as above

First class service and most helpful

Entered serial number of original strut, entered the quantity, paid. All was quick and easy to do. New struts arrived two days later. Perfect fit. Well happy.

Couldn’t believe how fast the delivery came. Great!

Not the first time I have used gas spring shop always very helpful Thanks Mick

Needed to find equivalent part to one taken off horse box. They were very helpful in finding exact equivalent and order delivered very quickly.

Itwas promissed next day delivery. Friday it was not delivered. Now I'm waiting.

Gas spring appears well made and of good quality. Website easy to navigate & order. Shipping was super fast. Price is what I would expect for a high quality spring. On the down side, the gas spring I received felt a little gritty in certain positions on movement Not sure if this could be a possibility of seal sticking/lubrication, possibility been on shelf a while. However it does feel a bit metallic in these positions & so feels like a much cheaper spring. Unfortunately due to the nature of gas springs I am unable to use lubricants. Because of this I will unfortunately have to score down. Order:- WS28529GB
